New Video: 2010 Reel

Over the weekend, I was busy working on creating a new demo reel to share the line of work I’ve done and skill set I have developed in media production.

The short reel was created in Apple’s Final Cut Pro and Motion 4 software. I used Final Cut Pro to do the various montages shown in the demo while Motion was used to do the majority of the work in animating and creating the overall look of the video. This includes the video thumbnails used in the background, reflective surface, lighting effects, and camera moves.

The entire reel took a few hours of labor, but took my MacBook Pro around 12 hours to render. Of course, it’s not the ideal machine to do this kind of work on, so it definitely took more time than anticipated.

All in all, I am satisfied with the results. I’d like to make a few tweaks as time permits such as adding a few more camera moves such as pans to showcase more depth in the video environment and probably swapping out shots which is made easy thanks to Motion 4′s drop zone feature.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy my latest creation.
